one of the loveliest happenings in a nyc weekend is a serendipitous run in with a street fair. (that is, unless you're stuck in cab traffic or fasting when it's strategically placed in front of the church)
when you go (planned or not) try the to-die-for mozzarepa
(think grilled cheese with corn and mozzarella)
street corn
shish kebabs
gyros
fresh fruit smoothies
zeppole
fried oreos
cheap international food
crepes
etc....
delish. and while you're there, do some shopping.
i've found treasures, on occasion.
this is the most comprehensive street fair schedule.
