this girl

came to our matinee yesterday....
and the only reason i noticed her was because i was checking out her
ridiculously beautiful boyfriend from the stage.

yowza. this kid is stunning.

miley is nice.
she wears HUDSON jeans (the stella).
her mom is pretty.

the end.

electro lectro lectro lyte!

during this insane 6 show weekend, i will rely heavily on
prayers and coconut water
to sustain me.

i hear it's also a great hangover cure as well!

i love zico and vitacoco brands but neither taste as good as
fresh pressed coconut water.

happy replenishing!

a charmed life

i'm crazy for dogeared jewelry.
i tried to choose one or two to highlight, but i want to give/receive them ALL!

these look fantastic layered.

give. give. give.

to ME!

the next two are wonderfully cheeky.

make a wish....

and dr janet will grant it!
after telling my chiropractor/friend/fabulous woman extrordinaire, janet shefts, that one of my favorite t-day traditions is watching the macy's thanksgiving day parade with dad, she generously squeezed me into the CBS VIP grandstand @ columbus circle.

truthfully, i blame the parade for my dream of working on broadway.
watching the performances is our favorite part.
thanks dr j!
dad, you'll be here next year!!

i sat here.

relationship equation

lints and i discussed the appropriate amount a girl should ever love her man when she's dating-- in order to keep a healthy perspective.....

if you like me= x

i should* like you = x - 1

*i said should... to protect your heart a bit...

conglaturations!

i adore incorrect foreign english.
sister nina missionary sends hilarious korean tidbits which absolutely floor me....

thankfully,
wwsl turned me on to

amazing.

so maybe i loved edward.

i admit, i was a doubter.
but edward thrilled me thru the cheesy bits.
rosalie and victoria?
not stunning enough for me....

b6 and friends (lots of them) took over the 12:01 screening of twilight....
hilarity ensued...

maybe mtv news interviewed us....
but left the funny bits (and us) out of the interview.....

lame mtv news interview
but cool that ashes was on the thumbnail!!!

that top model girl interviewing...

what is ace doing?

nan kissing idol bootay.

lolo and nanna smooshed by acer.
i adore these women to no end.

ashes and her fangs.

we're totally geeking out about this.

happy 500th birthday to GREASE!!!

hurray!!
we've had 500 + (that count doesn't include previews) performances.
that's a lot of hand jives.

so thankful to have a job , especially in this economy.
so thankful to have great friends in this show.

we sang happy birthday to us.

here's to 500 more!!

missed me?

from time to time, i like to read craigslist's "missed encounters" sections.
i wonder if anyone has tried to find you?

i think this post is sweet and such a typically quintessential nyc encounter.

whole foods lunch snob

"you caught my eyes right away.

i was eating ridiculously healthy today and you were having buffalo chicken wing pizza. you told me i made you feel bad about your health but secretly i wanted to trade with you. i doubt yo'd be the type to check these things...but on the off chance you do, write me up!
i was hoping to talk more with you..."

bachelor in the flesh

had a run-in with bachelor brad in the middle of the street today.

he's much smaller than i'd anticipated...

D: it is written.

slumdog millionaire
is the best film i've seen in years.

so heart breakingly beautiful, in fact, that my dear, manly E sobbed so hard that he dropped his
1 lb. bag of skittles all over the theatre floor.....
but if you ask him, he had "allergies."

i continued to sob cathartically all the way home from the angelika.

its so brilliant, i smell oscar.

Sunday, November 16, 2008

i am not ashamed.....

to wear my very-mormon, very BYU, very Vakapuna football jersey
thru the very charged, very anti streets of nyc.
i then proceeded to sign autographs and pose for pictures wearing the aforementioned jersey.

it's game day, y'all!
go cougs!

the fisher challenge

grease's resident ab-queen, Patty Simcox, claims to do 500 crunches and 50 push-ups every evening (though now she claims the crunch count is up to 1,000).

not to be outdone, the B6 sorority decided to adopt the challenge.

here's how they broke it down:

6 days a week (tues-sunday) we crunch it out during our break in act 1.
we like to crunch to

rhianna's "disturbia"
pussycat dolls "when i grow up"
estelle's "american boy"

week 1 : 100 crunches/10 push ups
week 2 : 200 crunches/20 push ups
week 3: 300 crunches/30 push ups
week 4 : 350 crunches/35 push ups
week 5 : 400 crunches/ 40 push ups
week 6 : 450 crunches / 45 push ups
week 7 : 500 crunches /50 push ups

i joined on week 6.
needless to say, my abs are sore ... but defined.

try it.
boo yeah!

pour some sugar in my bowl....

and some salt...

starbucks salted caramel hot chocolate is to die for.....
and after looking at the calories, it really may shorten years of your life...

mmmm.......but it's worth it every now and then, right?

bye bye blues.

thankfully, last nights blues did not stay long...

thanks to:

a glimmer of good news
smudgy hugs
5 napkin burger's chocolate malt (crazy good.)
clue:the movie
great time with good friends
stellie kisses
a phone call from dad

and your words of encouragement.

thank you for lifting me.

i'm blue.

if anna wolf could take a photo of me at this instant, it would look exactly like this.

i'm blue. just blue.
and there's not a thing to do.
(the weepies)

i'll get back to you once i've painted this out and i'm properly inspired.

in the meantime,
have a delicious weekend.

another

from nicole.

what do you think?

puppy love

sometimes i like to hold stellie's hand while she sleeps.

she probably hates it...

but it makes me very happy.

patty cake, patty cake!

i've been on many an allergy-restricted diet....
the only safe -treat-haven i have in nyc is babycakes.

mostly gluten-free, vegan, sugar-free, soy-free, without sacrificing TASTE!
visit their bakery or
24 carrots on 72nd (broadway-west end ave).

delish!

i was a

train wreck tonight.

MUCH of the show has changed (so come see it, again!)
as has the cast (WHO ARE THESE STRANGERS!!?!)
and i wasn't so smooth on the new choreography i learned in an hour and without the rest of the cast....

here's what you don't hear about being in a broadway show:

*by the end of the week, my feet swell from a size 7 to a 7 1/2 because of dancing in heels.
*the fake lashes make me lose about 1/3 of my already sparse eyelashes.
*after months of wig wearing, i have scabs from where the pins enter my wig prep and my hairline breaks from pin curls.
*most nights (like tonight) i spend loads of time icing my injuries.
*after months of sweating in makeup, my skin starts to look like an astrology map.
*if you gain one pound, you will feel it---(you can even feel the vast difference in fit from a matinee show to evening... we all LOVE the matinee's cause your costumes are soo roomy!)--and your very tactful wardrobe supervisor will threaten you and basically call you a cow. ... don't worry, miss wardrobe, WE ladies can feel it. trust me. we know when we gain weight. thank you, captain obvious.
*if you miss even ONE show/week, your lung capacity for the hand jive decreases.... miss 6 weeks and you'll beg for oxygen backstage.

so farewell to beautiful skin, luscious lashes, small feet, and big boobs....

i'm about to get broadway gaunt again.
isn't this life so glamorous?!

tomorrow will be better.....

i hope.

i guess the Lord must be in New York CIty......

photo
i always have a teary flight-from-hell coming back to nyc.
i cry because i already miss my family (especially my sweet parents).
i cry because i wonder if i should stay in utah.
i cry because i wonder if what i do means anything.
i cry because i wonder if i'm in the right place.
and
i cry because stellie is such a neurotic spaz that SHE cries the entire flight and i feel like the whole plane hates me.

then i enter the magic yellow cab and i see the skyline of my city.
isn't it funny?
there are SO many people who feel ownership of this city.
that they're a part of creating it.. of keeping it thriving.
it is MY city.

and

i cry because i'm happy.
i cry because i'm right where i should be.
i cry because this city is so full of opportunity.
i cry because the adrenaline of the city fills me with hope.

i cry because i'm home...my other home.

then i tuck myself into my cozy flat,
put up new pictures of my family,
and make my bed like my mom makes hers.....

sheet
blanket
sheet
quilt

{like a hotel. feels so lush}

home squared.

so harry nilsson was right-

"i guess the Lord must be in new york city"

cha cha's back!

i return to nyc tomorrow with mixed emotions.
turns out, this medical leave happened to fall during a really important time for my family.
everything happens for a reason.

it's always hard to leave the people i love.

thankfully, i'll hit the ground running and back in GREASE on TUESDAY night!!
(let's hope i remember it)

i hear the show has changed much as well as the people.

can't wait to meet my "new cast."

come see the show!
say hello at the stage door!

.xoxo.

knock , knock...

bought this sweet necklace.

it's the doorknob to the Salt Lake City temple.
beehives are a symbol of industry and royalty.
it's only $6.00

how's THAT for industry.

sorry, gals. the link should be working now.

i have come to the conclusion

that even the most skilled Casanovas resort to the
"massage,"
"poke,"
or "are you ticklish" tactic
to get close to women.

men are so predictable.

i'm just so FREAKING EXCITED!!!

today is mom's 50th birthday!!

and, like sue, i have ruined all three surprises i was involved in.
me. personally.
ruined everything.

i just get so FREAKING EXCITED!!!

sorry, maman.

what a wonderful day to celebrate a woman who is so
bright, intersting, strong, interested, fun, kind, classy, compassionate, grounded, stylish, sensible, organized, beautiful, funny, and cool.

i have a cool mom.

{happy birthday!}

Friday, November 7, 2008

i really wanted her in grey but can't find her anymore....

scarf use #27

stellie-sling

this is what happens with the water dogs scare her to the point that she won't walk on the floor anymore....and i want to use my hands.

she likes it.

i am sure an earthquake is splitting my brain in two.....

dad and i (both heavily caffeinated individuals) gave up diet coke today.

my headache is ENORMOUS (i've been drinking my feelings too much...)....
and i think even my heart aches for it.
but D,
WE CAN DO THIS!!!

The return of the GWP

Hey gang, guest blogger DD here.

I often show my age at the beauty counter when I reminisce about the days of the $12.50 gift with purchase (especially now that its $35+ and there's no free baguette!).

Sephora however is bringing the Gift With Purchase back better than ever. Make any $25 purchase, enter code "BEAUTY BOX" at check out and get all this:

I think this is a fantastic way to try new stuff without making a huge financial commitment and in this economy who doesn't need a bargain? Word to the wise however, this might be the way you find out you really like that $200 eye cream you have no business lusting after.

Anyhow, happy shopping and if you find something in there you can't live without, share with the rest of us!

fanny price.

mom has HUDSON jean fever.
she got all of our legs into them, including my besties.
shazam!
they make your bootylicious behind look fantastic!
worthini bought this pair. i want them.

hudson "stella" skinny-leg
i own these in black and this wash.
they look smashing with flats or tucked into boots.
truth be told, i have them cinched in the waist and shortened cause i'm squatty.... i'm a big fan of tailoring everything.

*can you even believe that i bought them without knowing they're called the "stella."
we're MFEO

dear nordstrom,
WHAT is this ridiculous pose?!

speaking of presidents....

my BIL, adam, introduced me to this crazy trivia...

Lincoln-Kennedy Similarities

Abraham Lincoln was elected to Congress in 1846.

John F. Kennedy was elected to Congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected President in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.
Both wives lost their children while living in the White House.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
Both Presidents were shot in the head.

Now it gets really weird.

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's Secretary was named Lincoln.

Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Both were succeeded by Southerners named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy, was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by their three names.
Both names are composed of fifteen letters.

Now hang on to your seat.

Lincoln was shot at the theater named 'Ford.'
Kennedy was shot in a car called 'Lincoln' made by 'Ford.'

Lincoln was shot in a theater and his assassin ran and hid in a warehouse.
Kennedy was shot from a warehouse and his assassin ran and hid in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And here's the kicker...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.

i'm a spaz.

so i make sussy take my headshots EVERY time i'm in town.....

not because she doesn't do a splendid/borderline amazing job, but because i'm a SPAZ in front of a still camera.

moving camera=good, great, comfortable natalie

still camera operated by judging sister=awkward sauce

this is the first in a series of headshot shoots i'm FORCING her to do this week....

hope my lovely wonderful agents (schiowitz, connor, ankrum wolf) like them!!
-t & j, this image is un-retouched but will be soon....

welcome, mr president.

stretch armstrong

my cousin, scotty is/was the lead singer of this very cool ska band called "stretch armstrong."
"stretch" was once so big that a little-known band called "no doubt" opened for them.
their lead singer, this cargo-pant wearing, midriff bearing punkish girl named gwen stefani debuted a new song she had just written called "i'm just a girl."

and at the end of the song she said the most shocking thing my jr high ears had ever heard:
"f-you, i'm a GIRL!"

i digress.... "stretch" had a reunion show on saturday night and they were ska-tacular!

it was a family affair- 3 generations of "stretch marks"
my family is cool.

meanwhile, back at the ranch..... i mean FORKS!

B6 and a few others dressed as vamps and vixens for halloween!!
oh, you kids look SO HOT!
i'm super jealous that i couldn't take part in the twilight goodness!
the wigs are amazing, girls!

they say this is their sad face that i couldn't be there too...

oh, thank you, my sweets!!!
how refreshing not to be a victim of the "outta sight, outta minds"!

you know i'd have been all fanged-up and probably would have been forced to be one of the amazonian vampires cause my skin isn't as porcelin as yours!

i miss you dearly!!
see you next week!!!!!

God's gift to women and the lady bug

this halloween, i opted out of fabulous trips to vegas and miami and happily passed out candy, costume-free (i wasn't feeling it).

this was an amazing decision ... i would have hated to miss out on these costume gems:

miss stellie hated her ladybug hood

mini-natalie's dad Seth as "God's gift to women"
love it.

i have officially made it!

who needs a TONY!
who needs a GRAMMY!
who needs an OSCAR!

when an 8 yr old dresses up as
"broadway star natalie hill" (her title, not mine)
for halloween.

ha!

quite possibly the funniest and most flattering thing i have ever seen!

her mom (my bff angie boyle king) , asked her what "broadway star natalie hill" would wear for halloween?

her response: "expensive looking clothes (LOOKING?! guess i'm not even fooling an 8 yr old!) and a scarf (guess that's my trademark!)!

never laughed so hard....

thank you, miss bella!
you looked SO fabulous as a brunette!

rah rah rahrahrah!!!

chip and pepper nyu tee
if you know me well, you know that i'm ga-ga for college football!
sadly, my alma mater, the fighting violets of NYU, do not have a football team.

so i have adopted teams of my own.....

University of Southern California

and

Brigham Young University (go cougs!)

i've happily been to 3 byu home games this season..(and one more on saturday!)..
no fear, i'll be wearing my UNGA jersey on game days in nyc.

and goooo trojans!

loving watching my pal , stanley, kill it in SoCal!

he's darling.

who do you roar for??

shouldn't it be called multiple? .....i dunno.

NARS super orgasm

a glowier version of my beloved blush

GUEST BLOGGER: bff DD - adventures at the upper west shack!!

best friend, DD here!

while natalie has been away these few weeks, i have been inhabiting her sassy city pad. i had hopes of natalie-level excitement but have been laid low with bronchitis.

worthie and i did, however, manage to make it to the newly opened Upper West Side location, of our favorite, THE SHAKE SHACK. it was sorely lacking in outdoor ambiance and, of course, our favorite calorie indulger, miss hill.

besides that.... the custard was fantastic-as was the company!

come home quick! the besties miss you!

xo DD

worthini and significant other, sweet mike.

note from n*:

can't believe how jealous i am that you christened the upper west shack without ME!!!
aaaaahhhhhhhh!

miss you, lovies!
