snoozers

i have a real bee in my bonnet about "snoozers."
2 of my sisters are 100% the worlds worst offenders.

picture this: we're sleeping 5 people in my tiny studio apartment.
alarm goes off at an unholy hour and the sister for whom the alarm was set, doesn't acknowledge it....
the rest of us wake up.
finally, after a full alarm series, the offending sister SNOOZES it. she doesn't turn it off... she snoozes.
i then lay awake and worry that that girl is going to miss her important reason to wake early so i nudge her to wake.. which she doesn't... she just waits for 2 MORE snooze sessions to happen....i, then, am awake and full of fury.

now this is not an uncommon occurrence...
happens on the regular around the hill house.
my sympathy to their husbands.
the ONLY reason i can think to snooze is if you're waking up for a snuggle and you have a finite amount of time....

other than that, set the alarm for the last possible minute and get your act out of bed ESPECIALLY when other people are within ear shot! listen, i can be the ultimate procrastinator, but a snoozer?! no.

are you a snooze offender?

I'm guilty! The best alarm clock I ever had had a remote snooze button attached to the clock by a long cord. That way, you could snooze without accidentally (and drowsily) turning off your alarm. I thought it was brilliant! I wish I still had that clock, but it stopped working after a few years. Hmmm, maybe my husband broke it...

Yes! And my boyfriend complains the same way you are complaining about your sister!

I guess I snooze because I need a few minutes before really waking up.

Yes! I will sheepishly admit, I am a snoozer. But, I am single, so I am not affecting anyone else with my snoozing. When I do have to sleep within earshot of others, I don't snooze as a courtesy.

I just like to take my time getting fully awake. I don't intend to fall back to sleep - in fact often I just lay there thinking and planning my day in my head - but the "snooze" is a way to insure that if I DO fall back asleep I won't sleep in.

Nope! Never hit the snooze, always up with the first alarm. But I am also a morning person and went to a military school, so that might explain things....

I snooze about 8 times before I get my act out of bed.

I am a complete snoozer, but I live alone so it doesn't bother anyone else. I need time to throw a work related tantrum in bed before I get up, and sometimes the tantrum tuckers me out enough that I fall back asleep. Thank heavens for the snooze.

Not gonna lie--I'm a snoozer. I just have to wake up gradually on normal days. However, my husband doesn't care (he's a snoozer too), and I would never do it if I were sleeping in a communal room for some reason.

Im a total snoozer and cant learn my lesson, Im usually almost awake by the time the first alarm goes off, almost as if Im anticipating it...then after I hit snooze I fall into a deep sleep and have a hard time getting out of bed by snooze 3. And then I am groggy..you think Id learn!
What does HD stand for? its not on your sidebar, ha!

Oh don't let my husband read this, he hats what a snoozer I am. I even set several alarms that each snooze. My one saving grace is that I do get up on the first ring if I am sleeping near anyone else.

i had a boyfriend who, instead of snoozing, actually just set the most obnoxious alarms on his phone (in the form of songs) about 10 minutes apart from each other. there were probably 5. i probably launched his phone across the room a time or two because once you hear "Dark Blue" by Jacks Mannequin 3 times before 7 am, that's ENOUGH.

Yes, I'm guilty of snoozing as well. :-(
Mornings are rough! But, I try not to snooze if anyone else is around.

You're a very thoughtful sister not to share names. Your consideration should be rewarded by no snoozing while visiting your apartment.

Of course I snooze. And snooze. And snooze some more. It's so utterly wonderful to turn over, hit snooze, and drift back off... that is, if you really DON'T have to get up and go. Then, I'll do one snooze. Because unless I'm going on a trip, I can't pop out of sleep like some kind of ... "morning person", now, can I?

Thanks for giving me a name for this condition. My husband is a very severe 'snoozer' and it drives me crazy!

I am, but since I sleep alone, the only one it offends is me. :)

p.s- ummm just wanted to say thanks for doing the "children's songbooks" back in the day :)
maybe a little embarrassing that I recognize you but yes. I watched those videos literally every day when I was growing up. Two years ago when I went away to college I was feeling particularly homesick so I youtubed the videos. it worked like a charm.
